SUGAR & SPICE VS PUPPY DOG TAILS

I consider myself as a liberated female.

I raised my two girls to play with Tonka trucks and play with
mud - my son played with dolls.

(He also beheaded all the Barbies in the toy chest, but that's an entire other story....)

But I find myself doing some very, very sexist things.

At church, I serve in a nursery for the 18 month to 3 year olds for almost two hours every Sunday.

And although I keep trying to stop, I keep finding myself TELLING THE GIRLS THEY ARE PRETTY.

I tell the boys THEY ARE SO STRONG.

I automatically hand out the PINK toys to GIRLS.

I give the BOYS the trucks and race cars.

Is it that ingrained in us?!?!

I guess so - I am going to have to work on this harder!
