THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE

There are times when you are called upon to sacrifice for the greater good.

Millions have died for the cause of justice, liberty and freedom in conflicts across the globe. Parents have sacrificed their lives for their children. Politicians have abandoned any and all visible shreds of integrity to win elections. And thousands are at this very moment ready to lay their lives on the line to protect the next season of RAW wrestling, The Simpsons and/or any number of nauseating scenarios of medical emergencies scattered among romances, power plays and sex-change operations.

And at least three of us were willing to give two hours today to watch four screaming, crying and fighting toddlers at church when the nursery leader didn't show up.

I really should admit that only two of the four were any sort of fuss - Kate and RJ simply played politely and nicely and ate the greater portion of graham crackers and bananas.

But trust me, the other two made up for it.
Oh, wait, that last photo is of me.
